    Ich habe mir Westerwelles  Pressekonferenz vom 3. 4.2001 angeschaut.

    Dort sagt er:  "Ich werde auf dem kommenden Bundesparteitag im Mai nach zehn Jahren als Parteivorsitzender nicht erneut für das Amt mich bewerben."

    Das ist kein Rücktritt sondern lediglich die Ankündigung am Parteitag nicht mehr zu kandidieren. Westerwelle war bis zum Parteitag regulärer Vorsitzender der FDP.  Insofern ist  10.04. -31.5 richtig.
