    Wie schon 2008 habe ich mit Unterstützung von Matthias Cantow von wahlrecht.de eine umfangreiche, kommentierte Linkliste zur US-Wahl 2012 erstellt. Darunter finden sich auch einige mir vorher nicht bekannte Links, die hier im Forum gepostet wurden (ein besonderen Dank an Wanli (u. a.)).

    Kann man vielleicht am ehesten hier unterbringen: Der Erfolg der verschiedenen Umfrageinstitute, sowohl in Bezug auf die durchschnittliche Abweichung vom schlussendlichen Wahlergebnis als auch beim Ausschalten einer regelmäßigen Abweichung zugunsten einer der beiden Parteien (meist der Republikaner). Die Internet-Pollster, im UK schon länger eine etablierte Größe, sind jetzt auch in den USA angekommen, einige Firmen haben recht gut abgeschnitten mit dieser Methode, ich war da vor der Wahl noch etwas skeptisch gewesen. Demoskopen, die echte Interviews (keine Robocalls) durchführen ließen, finden sich sowohl ganz oben als auch ganz unten; wer Handys anrief, gelangte auf diese Weise nicht unbedingt zu einem besseren Ergebnis. Und ja: Gallup, Erfinder der Umfragen in ihrer heutigen Form, sowie Rasmussen sind tief gefallen.

    Interessant, dass internet-Erhebungsverfahren vorne mit dabei sind, das lässt hoffen. Denn per Telefon lässt sich der US-Wähler immer lustloser befragen.
